But does it cause cancer? Research has shown that breast cancer often develops in the upper outer quarter of a breast, which is the area closest to the armpit, where deodorant is normally applied. This has led some people to wonder if there is a connection between breast cancer and the use of deodorant.<\/p>\n

In this video, Dr Anthony Tang reassures that using deodorant of any kind does not increase the risk of breast cancer. In Singapore, the Health Science Authority (HSA) runs a lot of vigorous testings to ensure that the products that are imported into Singapore are safe for use. Many deodorants contain aluminium which helps to prevent sweating by blocking the sweat glands to keep sweat from reaching the skin\u2019s surface. Our bodies get rid of cancer-causing toxins through the kidneys and liver, not the sweat glands.<\/p>\n
